If you happen to be in Pittsburgh looking for something fun and interesting to do outside of see a football or baseball game, try looking up the Ducquesne Incline, a steep, old-fashioned tram ride straight up the side of a busy, green mountain where the views are incredible over the entire city. Make sure you show up with exact change to go up and down the Incline which is $3.25 for a two-way ticket. It makes little or not sense, but a conductor will stand there and take your exact change and put it into the machine and hand you a ticket. Maybe they’ve set up the system to mess with you. Climb aboard the tram and up, up, up you go with ear-popping altitude and a brilliant view of the city lights, which is why you should go at night. Recommended relaxation is to stop at the top and eat a fresh fish dinner at the bar and grill right at the top of the mountain. Ask to be seated next to the window and consider ordering the shrimp cocktail or Roughy with a lemon sauce and baked potato. The Rough is a light white-meat fish that tastes almost bland, so the lemon gives it a nice and necessary zing. If you’re out with friends and no children opt instead to grab a glass or wine or even champagne in the bottle and toast the city below. It makes a nice evening out.
